Everything ain’t for Everybody

As you soak up advice on your journey, remember only you can decide what road to take.

Today I shared a video on my youtube channel sharing my writing process and I immediately fell into a trap that everyone falls victim to.

Thinking there is only one way to do something.

And the truth is there isn’t. The system you use to accomplish your goals should be entirely dependent on your goals.

I know that I want to deliver a certain experience to my fan base and to be effective at it I need a system. I hate to say it but my books are honestly going to be the equivalent of high end fast food. Which is what most pop culture things are in a way.

They cater to base needs in humanity and deliver it consistently at regular intervals to the people in ways they are ready to receive it.

Therefore my writing advice may not be for everybody. It’ll honestly depend on what you want to do.

But what you can glean from it are principles of universality. Meaning if you hear me say something and then a newly published author say it and a master craftsman say it, then it probably true.

That’s how you find the threads to get where you want to get to.

But before you can do that. You need to know your lane. You need to know what you want to create for people. Then find the people, resources and places that can help you get there. That’s why I love Twitter, I get to be around like minds and see different struggles, successes and failures and just straight up wins. It feel like when one of us win on there all of us win on there.

And that experience led me to find what works for me.

I saw someone on my timeline say my only competition is me and it’s the truth. You are the only competition you have so it should stand to reason that only you would know what you truly need when the time comes.

And if that so happens to be my advice then so be it, but if not that’s ok too.

Till Next Time Loves
